This year's theme

Welcome to our annual conference, where we gather to discuss some of the most pressing issues of our time. By focusing on the below critical areas, we can create a better future for all Africans. We look forward to engaging in lively discussions and learning from the diverse perspectives of our participants.

Themes

Seamless connections (Roads, Railways, Air Transport and Water Transport);

Energy for Africa;

Industrialized Agriculture;

Housing;

Free Trade in Services;

Security;

Sustainable Environment and Engineering Education and Practice.

  • Free Trade in Services
    Free trade in services is another area that we will examine. Services are an essential component of economic growth, and liberalizing trade in services can create opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs. We will explore the potential benefits of free trade in services and the challenges associated with implementing it.
  • Seamless connections (Roads, Railways, Air Transport and Water Transport)
    We begin by examining the concept of seamless connections, which refers to the need for efficient and reliable transport systems. This encompasses not just roads and railways, but also air and water transport. A seamless transport system is critical for economic growth and development, as it enables people and goods to move easily and quickly from one place to another.
  • Energy for Africa
    In addition to transport, we will also focus on energy. The need for energy in Africa is urgent, and the development of sustainable and reliable sources is crucial. We will explore various options for energy production, including solar, wind, and hydroelectric power. We will also examine the challenges and opportunities of investing in energy infrastructure.
  • Industrialized Agriculture
    Industrialized agriculture is another critical area that we will cover. Agriculture is the backbone of many African economies, and improving productivity is essential for sustained economic growth. We will look at ways to increase efficiency in agriculture, including the use of technology and improved farming practices.
  • Housing
    Housing is also a critical area of focus. Many African cities are experiencing rapid population growth, which has led to a shortage of affordable housing. We will explore ways to address this issue, including the development of low-cost housing and public-private partnerships.
  • Security
    Security is also a critical area of focus, as it is essential for economic growth and social stability. We will examine ways to improve security, including the development of effective law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
  • Sustainable Environment and Engineering Education and Practice
    Finally, we will examine sustainable engineering education and practice. As we move towards a more sustainable future, we need engineers who are trained to design and implement sustainable solutions. We will explore ways to improve engineering education and practice to meet the challenges of the future.
